The Elizabethan Gardens at Kenilworth Castle have been named as one of the ten most 'Instagrammable' royal gardens in the UK today.

The top ten was revealed by flower delivery specialists Direct2Floritsts, with Kenilworth Castle named as the tenth prettiest royal garden nationally.

The top ten has been compiled based on the number of hashtag each garden has received on Instagram over the past 12 months.

The results, says Simon Sterling, MD at Direct2Florist, not only show which royal walkabouts are most popular, but also how truly valuable they are as beautiful natural spaces and outstanding national icons.

"If the pandemic has taught us anything, it's that nature can have a powerful and positive impact on our mental health and wellbeing," he said.

"It's for this reason that many of them exist at all - to be stunningly beautiful and peaceful retreats for royalty throughout history, and have often been the setting for key events. As a result, they occupy a special place in the lives of not only the royal family, but our national history and heritage as well."

Buckingham Palace, Kew Gardens, and Hampton Court Gardens fill the top three spots on the list, with Buckingham Palace receiving 1,330,960 tags during the last year.

Kenilworth Castle props up the list with 22,147.

The list in full:

  1. Buckingham Palace Garden
  2. Kew Gardens
  3. Hampton Court Gardens

  5. Osbourne
  6. Leeds Castle
  7. Hever Castle & Gardens
