Kenilworth carpet shop to close this week
A Kenilworth carpet shop will close its doors for the final time this week, nearly a decade after it first opened.
Western Carpets' shop at The Square will close permanently from Thursday, June 1, with the business set to run solely from its existing shop in Leamington Spa.
A notice in the shop window said: "We are moving. After nearly 10 years in this shop, our lease is coming to an end.
"From June 1 2023 we are therefore relocating to join our Leamington shop at 58 Regent Street, Leamington Spa, CV32 5EG."
Western Carpets claims to be the longest established carpet and flooring supplier in the area.
The business has traded for over half a century from its Regent Street shop.
The company's website says one of the founding partners, Dave Lemon, still works for the business on a day to day basis.
The vacant unit at the Square is now being marketed by Henley-in-Arden based agent Ramsdens.
The closure of the Kenilworth branch is the latest in a series of store closings, which has seen Buyrite and Sheldon Bosley Knight both shut in the town centre over the past few weeks.
Nub News has approached Western Carpets for comment.
