Motorists will have to pay more for their parking in Kenilworth from today (January 3), with new charges introduced across all Warwick District Council car parks.

Having not touched prices the year before, the local authority has agreed new fees across its car parks as it looks to boost its income.

Drivers will now have to pay up to £7.30 per day to park in Abbey End, Square West and Abbey Fields - a £1 increase.

The two-hours free parking in Abbey Fields will remain, but all charges above this are set to go up.

Residents will also now pay £2.20 for overnight parking between 6pm and 8am in all three Kenilworth car parks.

Having not made as much as expected from parking last year, the council is looking to make over £4 million from parking in the coming year.

Other increases to council services will also see some price hikes to bereavement services.
