The speed limit on a busy Kenilworth road is set to be reduced to 30mph due to HS2 plant crossing the road.

Dalehouse Lane will have its speed limit cut from 50mph until Spring 2024, the high-speed rail developer has announced.

A section of the road will also close later this month to have new road markings drawn for the plant crossing.

Dalehouse Lane will be closed on 21 October between 9.30am and 3.30pm and 22 October 2022 8am to 1pm if required, to "minimize disruption to peak traffic".

A full diversion will be in place.

An HS2 statement said: "To facilitate plant crossing, we will be carrying out line marking works for a speed limit reduction on Dalehouse Lane, Kenilworth.

"A section of Dalehouse Lane will be temporarily closed, to ensure a safe working area while line marking is carried out.

"The lane will be reopened once the works are completed.

"For the safe operation of the plant crossing, the speed limit on Dalehouse Lane will be reduced from 50mph to 30mph until spring 2024."
