HS2 has amended its plans to close the A429 Kenilworth Road in September.

Originally the main route into Kenilworth was due to be closed for almost the whole month, but now contractors will close it in stages.

Initially 'stop-go' boards will be used between 9.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday from Monday 16 September to Friday 27 September.

This will then be followed by a full 24/7 closure from Monday 30 September to Friday 25 October.

Phase one will be for "further inspections and surveys of drainage and utilities".

Phase two will be for relocating the utilities for the new road alignment.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout.

In early 2025, HS2 will have another full road closure to complete the permanent road realignment for the new bridge.

Councillors on Kenilworth Town Council have recently criticised the "disgraceful" handling of the closure.
