Here comes the sun! Kenilworth is hotter than Ibiza today

Kenilworth is set to swelter in heatwave conditions from today through to early next week - with top temperatures hitting 32C.

The annual excitement that somewhere in the UK is hotter than Ibiza is certainly true today!

Nub News' live weather partner, Meteoblue, has today recorded temperatures of up to 32C in Warwickshire, compared to a meagre 30C on the Iberian Island.

The tropical conditions have arrived perhaps at the perfect time, as lockdown restrictions continue to ease, and we can spend time having BBQ's and garden parties with our loved ones.

Our town can expect blazing hot sunshine until Tuesday at the very least - with temperatures expected to hit the high twenties each day.

Today, Friday, will see a top temperature of 34C - with an amber warning in place as the heat triggers the Met Office's extreme weather level three status.

However, we should make the most of it, as low pressure is expected to move in later in the month - meaning the second half of August could see more frequently wet and windy conditions.

This is due to an active Atlantic hurricane season, which could lead to changeable conditions towards the end of August.
