HS2 has released its winter update for the upcoming works near Kenilworth.

Construction of the railway, which will bypass the north side of the town as it travels from Burton Green to Stoneleigh, will require a number of road closures and temporary traffic lights in the first few months of 2022.

Near Burton Green preparations for the new tunnel will continue. This will include earthworks, and the workforce will be building a new compound at Waste Lane and a new haul road for access.

The walls around the tunnel entrance will also begin to take shape.

Cromwell Lane and Red Lane are also likely to have more temporary traffic lights as utility diversions continue.

Around Crackley lane the so-called 'Green Corridor' will begin to take shape with new woodlands, wetlands, and wildlife habitats created.

On the other side of Kenilworth, contractors will begin the design and construction of a new overbridge with a cycle route near the B4115.

And in Stoneleigh multiple temporary closures are already planned as HS2 redesigns its plant crossing.

Vegetation across the area will also be removed in various places "to safely construct the railway".
