Kenilworth continued their unbeaten streak taking all three points at home to Redditch Borough.
And after a few dropped point from winning positions in recent weeks, manager Martin Ascroft was pleased that his side held out for a deserved 1-0 win.
"Redditch are a lot better than their league position shows for sure," he said.
"This division is a tough one with some decent teams from top to bottom that can all take points from anyone on any given day.
"Today we showed another side to our young squad, we had to adapt to the conditions and Redditch's style of play."
With the frosted pitch and fog not conducive to Kenilworth's neat passing game, the hosts struggled to create many clear cut chances.
But on 38 minutes Joe Taylor's pin-point corner ended up in the Redditch goal after the keeper and defenders both left it for each other.
Redditch's main threat was always going to be set pieces and corners with a lot of height to attack any crosses in the danger areas.
The away side's best chance came from the latter just before half time with four consecutive corners that caused mayhem in the Kenilworth goal mouth but some excellent defending kept the clean sheet for the home side.
In the second half Kenilworth were the better side but just couldn't find the second goal that would have put the game to bed.
And after such a narrow margin of victory, Ascroft was quick to praise his players.
"Defensively we were very good today with some excellent performances back there," he added.
"With a little bit more composure up top we could have scored four or five but we are creating lots of chances so that's positive for us.
"There are 10 league games to go for us, we will be giving it our best shot to keep our unbeaten run going."
