Locals have until the end of next week to have their say on plans to build speed bumps and introduce a 20mph zone around the new Kenilworth School.

Works to improve safety measures near the school began in April and will eventually see new crossings and cycle lanes built.

And with roadworks continuing into the autumn, Warwickshire County Council has now launched a public consultation on plans to install up to 12 speed bumps and two speed tables along the road.

The council said they would help to create a 20mph zone. A new 20mph speed limit is in place along some of the road, but it will only become a 'zone' if traffic calming measures are also built.

"The speed cushions are being introduced to support the proposed 20 mph zone along Glasshouse Lane, adjacent to the new school site," the public notice said.

The council is also proposing to reduce the speed limits on Edwards Grove and Denewood Way.

Residents have until October 13 to have their say on the plans.

More information can be found on the council website here.
