Solar panels are set to be installed on the building home to Kenilworth Town Council and Sir Jeremy Wright's office this year.

Warwick District Council will be installing the panels on the roof of Jubilee House this June, with new windows also to be fitted in June and July.

The installation is the latest in a series of works at council-owned buildings, with plans also submitted for solar panels on the roof at Castle Farm Leisure Centre.

"Following the installation of solar panels at Newbold Comyn, work is continuing on the decarbonising of our buildings," Cllr Lowell Williams said at last week's full district council meeting.

"Next off the block will be Jubilee House in Kenilworth where the new electrical mains supply is due to be installed in May.

"That paves the way for the roofworks which will include the installation of solar panels in June.

"Followed by the installation of new windows in late June or July."

Cllr Williams said the installation would help reduce carbon emissions for the town centre building by 17 tonnes annually.

He also said the tender process for the works would allow local small to medium sized businesses to apply.
