Green councillors commit to hosting regular resident drop in sessions in Kenilworth
Local Green councillors have committed to hosting regular 'surgeries' to hear the concerns of Kenilworth residents.
Seven Green Party councillors - including Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Alix Dearing - were available at Jubilee House and Talisman Square on Saturday (July 29) to talk to locals about the issues impacting them most.
The group said a number of issues were raised to them, including:
- What more should we do to meet net zero locally?
- Traffic issues on Warwick Road
- More recycling bins locally
- Local planning issues - how to ensure housing has solar, air source, rainwater harvesting and proper insulation as standard
- Cycling routes - pros & cons - K2L, routes to the new school and Abbey Fields
- Swimming pool development in Abbey Fields
"Thanks very much to all who took the time to talk to us on Saturday - it was great to listen to people about the issues they are concerned about in Kenilworth," a group statement said.
"This is part of our ongoing commitment to listen to your views, and to take action as far as we can.
"What we heard during our recent campaign was how much people appreciate the Greens being out and about, engaging with people, and actually listening. So we want to do more of that."
While a date for the next surgery is yet to be announced, the Greens said they are "planning to do this regularly".
