Photographs have shown the progress on site at the new Kenilworth School.

Work began on the Glasshouse Lane project in May 2021 and are expected to be complete by June 2023 ready for the school to welcome students in for the start of term in September.

Kenilworth School & Sixth Form has been planning the project that will see it move from its two sites on Leyes Lane and Rouncil Lane to Southcrest Farm since 2014.

Being built by Morgan Sindall, the £48million project will see a single three-storey school building built with 33 acres of sports pitches.

According to a project update report £30million has already been spent.

The school has also launched a major fundraising project to provide enhanced facilities.

It is aiming to raise £2.5million for an athletics track, tree planting, furniture and equipment and enhanced fittings for the school's theatre.

In the school's public appeal headteacher Hayden Abbott said: "It is exciting to watch the new build take shape and also important to recognise that whilst contractors are on site, we have an opportunity to go beyond the brief and include a suite of extra benefits for pupils, staff and the local community.

"With your help we are looking to raise a further £2.5million in philanthropic funding that will enable us to transform an excellent school into a truly extraordinary one.

"We would like you to join us in meeting this fundraising challenge.

"Together, we can create a school that supports the wonderful diversity of our young people and provides Kenilworth with a facility that we can all be proud of."
