The shortlist for a set of awards celebrating independent businesses in Kenilworth has been released.

Businesses have been nominated by and voted for by members of the public in six different categories for 'The Worthies'.

Last held in 2019, the awards are organised by Kenilworth Chamber of Trade and aim to celebrate the contribution indies make to Kenilworth.

Following the public vote, each business will be interviewed by an independent panel of judges before the winners are announced at an awards ceremony in November at the Holiday Inn.

Following the publication of the shortlist, chamber chair Rebecca Warwick told Nub News: "We have been overwhelmed by the fantastic response from the public voting for many of our Kenilworth businesses, community groups, and Worthy individuals.

"As well as some well loved favourites, I have found out about lots of great organisations I hadn't heard of before, so it is great to give them some publicity too!

"The votes have now been totalled up and this has given us a list of finalists, but also a list of nominees to whom we also extend our congratulations; after all, at least one person thought they were worth the effort of voting and that says a lot in itself.

"Everyone who voted gave a reason and those reasons are now being reviewed along with the numbers of votes to give us a set of winners, who will be announced at our awards dinner."
