Full details have been announced for both of Kenilworth's Christmas light switch on events this November.

On Friday (November 25) night the festivities will start on High Street, with a second event being hosted on Warwick Road on Sunday, 27.

The news comes just weeks after Warwick District Council announced that lights across the district will be on less this Christmas to save money and energy.

High Street

Friday 25 November will see the traditional light switch on event on High Street.

The event starts at 5pm and throughout the evening there will be music from a choir, food and drink vendors and children's entertainment.

The lights will be switched on at 6pm and the event finishes at 8pm.

Warwick Road

The second event of the weekend will run on Sunday, November 27.

The event gets underway at 1pm with a Christmas market and funfair rides available to keep the kids entertained.

The arrival of Santa on his sleigh at 4pm at Abbey End marks the start of the entertainment and performances on stage, with a choir, local artists and a special panto performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Talisman Theatre.

The lights will be switched on at 6pm by Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Sam Louden-Cooke, along with Sir Jeremy Wright MP and Commonwealth Games Gold medallist Lewis Williams.

The event finishes at 7pm.
