Fourteen-month closure of Kenilworth road for HS2 works set to be pushed back

The 14-month closure of Dalehouse Lane in Kenilworth looks set to be pushed back further, councillors have revealed.
The busy route into town was initially expected to close for over a year this spring to allow HS2 to install a new bridge and realign the road over the new rail line.
This provisional date had already been pushed back to September 2025, but at the most recent Kenilworth Town Council meeting members were told this was looking unlikely.
An update from Cllr Adrian Marsh following the recent HS2 forum said: "The proposed 14 month closure of Dalehouse Lane - initially scheduled to begin in September 2025 - may be delayed until late 2025 or early 2026.
"A public drop in session will be held at the Kenilworth Centre on 31 July to provide updated information and to answer residents' questions."
Design details for the 50-metre bridge for Dalehouse Lane have already been approved.
Nub News previously contacted HS2 on the road closure, and was told no date had been fixed for the start of the works.
