UPDATE: Queues clear after M42 crash

All lanes are now open again and the congestion cleared following a crash on the M42.

Two lanes of the northbound carriageway were closed this afternoon following a collision between a car and a lorry.

There were 45 minute delays and five miles of congestion.

But now National Highways said all lanes have re-opened.

"Thank you for your patience, please have a safe onward journey," the update said
