A five-day heat health alert has been announced for Warwickshire and the West Midlands by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).

The amber warning is in place from 2am today (May 22) until 5pm on 27 May.

UKHSA has warned of "significant impacts" which could include travel delays, increased demands on health care, managing medicines and even a "rise in deaths, particularly among those ages 65 and over or with health conditions".

Temperatures in Warwickshire are forecast to hit 30C on Monday and 27C on multiple other days over the coming week.

The alert has been given a risk of 12 which means there is a 60 to 89 per cent likelihood of these impacts.
