First glimpse of Kenilworth's new Wetherspoon as opening date nears

The opening of Kenilworth's new Wetherspoon is just weeks away and locals have been given a first glimpse of the new pub.
Contractors removed the scaffolding from the front of the building at The Square this week, showing the progress on the new facade.
Works began on site in February converting the former Poundland shop into the boozer named the 'Dictum of Kenilworth'.

While work is still underway, Wetherspoon confirmed to Nub News the pub will open as planned on July 29.
Work is also still underway at the rear of the building where the new beer garden will be built.
The name of the new boozer has also caused great discussion on social media, with some locals criticising the name 'The Dictum of Kenilworth' which relates to the end of the siege of Kenilworth in 1266.

Planning permission for the new signs at the pub were also signed off by Warwick District Council earlier this year.
They are yet to be installed.
The opening of The Dictum of Kenilworth will come three years after Wetherspoon announced it was coming to town.
The unit at The Square had been empty since January 2020.
Wetherspoons said it is investing £2 million in the site which will bring 60 new jobs to the town.
