Firefighters rescue driver from vehicle after crash in Kenilworth

Firefighters were needed to help rescue a person trapped in a car following a crash in Kenilworth yesterday (January 31).

Just after 5pm, crews from Kenilworth and Leamington were rushed to New Street to help get the driver out of the vehicle.

Paramedics gave the driver a precautionary check, but they were unharmed.

Photographs show the incident left a building on New Street was significant damage.

The vehicle was isolated and made safe.

Emergency services have not provided further details of the crash.

A Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service statement said: "Two crews from Kenilworth and Leamington have attended a collision on New Street in Kenilworth.

"One person has been assisted from the vehicle by firefighters, into the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service.

"Fire crews have isolated the vehicle battery to make the vehicle safe."
