Firefighters called to tackle hedge fire in Kenilworth as multiple incidents are reported across Warwickshire

Fire crews were called to deal with a row of hedges on fire in Kenilworth this afternoon (July 10) - one of a number of similar incidents reported across Warwickshire as temperatures have hit nearly 30C this weekend.

A fire engine from Leamington was called to the bushes on fire at the junction of Crackley Lane and Cryfield Grange Road at around 3.30pm this afternoon.

Crews from Kenilworth had already been called to a one-and-a-half acre grass fire at Shrewley Common at 3.17pm.

They were joined by firefighters from Henley-in-Arden and Leamington.

In the north of the county crews have been called to deal with a fire in the woods off Rannoch Drive in Nuneaton.

Whilst 59 emergency calls were made reporting a grass fire on the embankment where the M42 meets the M6 Toll Northbound.

And a crew from Coleshill have extinguished trees and a wooden structure which had caught fire off Coppice Lane near Middleton.
