A "fantastic response" has already been received to a consultation on the proposed new Abbey Fields cycle path, but there is still time left to comment.

Kenilworth locals have until June 12 to respond to the 'A Path for Our Future' public consultation.

"A ‘Path for Our Future’ public consultation is inviting residents of Kenilworth to have their say on a new proposal for a cycle path through Abbey Fields," Warwick District Council said.

"The level of responses so far has been fantastic, but if you haven’t had time to share your thoughts yet, there’s still time, as the survey remains open until 12 June."

"It’s important that the survey receives as many responses as possible, so making it easy and accessible for everyone to take part is key."

A series of drop-in events have already been held on the scheme.

A series of drop-in events have been announced to give locals a chance to find out more about the proposed new cycle paths for Abbey Fields.

Warwick District Council (WDC) has recently launched the , seeking local views on the controversial scheme.

The consultation had been delayed over the past few months.

WDC wants to hear from everyone who enjoys Abbey Fields – "whether you walk, wheel, cycle, run, play, or simply relax in the park".

The scheme has been drawn up by WDC, Warwickshire County Council and Sustrans.

The council said the plans aim to "support active travel, protect the park's historic character, and ensure everyone can continue to enjoy this much-loved green space".

There are three sections to the Abbey Fields shared use path proposal, each of which have their own suggested upgrades within them.

Views are sought on:

Section A - Borrowell Lane to Finham Brook

  1. Creating a new three-metre wide path
  2. Permitting cycling on the new path
  3. Adding more seating

Section B - Path around new swimming pool (including duck feeding platform area)

  1. Permitting cycling
  2. Enhancing signs
  3. Separating the duck feeding area from the path

Section C - Swimming Pool to Bridge Street

  1. Permitting cycling.
  2. Enhancing signs and markings.
  3. Creating new access path at Bridge Street entrance

Feedback from this survey will help shape the final designs, "ensuring they reflect the needs and priorities of the community".
