A BMW driver escaped without serious injury following a crash on the A46 on Saturday (June 7).

Warwickshire Police attended "multiple" crashes on the dual carriageway during the wet weather over the weekend.

One of the incidents resulted in serious damage to a BMW, with an image showing what remained of the vehicle shared by the force on social media.

A police statement said: "We attended multiple RTCs on the A46...following a short rain fall.

"The last resulted in serious damage, bust thankfully no serious injuries.

"Please be mindful in heavy rain, use fog lights if visibility is seriously reduced, stick to the left lane unless overtaking and reduce your speed."
