Estate agent closes Kenilworth branch
A Midlands-based estate agent has closed one of its high street branches after a "further strategic review of its business".
Sheldon Bosley Knight (SBK) has closed the doors to its Kenilworth at The Square office saying it was "not in the SBK style".
The staff at the town centre shop have been redeployed to other branches to look after the Kenilworth community.
SBK co-owner Mike Cleary said the decision was taken following its acquisition of Coventry-based estate agency Robin Jones, which has given the 180-year-old company a long-wanted presence in the city – the new office is already top agent in its core postcodes.
The company's other high street offices in Stratford-upon-Avon, Shipston-on-Stour, Pershore, Evesham, Kineton, Winchcombe, Leamington Spa, Chipping Campden, Nuneaton and Bedworth are unaffected and the company also has a strong online presence.
Mike Cleary said: "The last 18 months for SBK have been exceptionally busy. We have acquired some fantastic businesses, including Robin Jones in Coventry, and this has led us to re-evaluate and look at the ways we are working and serving buyers and sellers in our communities.
"The Kenilworth premises were not in the SBK style and so the decision was made to shutter the office for the time being.
"Although we are still absolutely committed to serving those buyers and sellers in Kenilworth, people are embracing different ways of living and working post pandemic, with bigger teams providing a more resilient and so better service.
"Our excellent and very experienced, professional teams in Leamington and Coventry will service the area in and around Kenilworth. It will not impact the high level of service we give our customers and which they rightly expect.
"The future is bright for SBK and we have more exciting news planned for the rest of the year."
