Driver hits 109mph on A46 by Kenilworth during police operation

A driver was clocked at 109mph by police conducting speed checks on the A46 near Kenilworth.

Officers were out on the dual carriageway on Sunday (July 5) morning as part of Operation Spotlight.

Fourteen vehicles were stopped for excessive speeding, including the Range Rover which was recorded at 109mph.

Warwickshire Police said the section of the A46 was being targeted due to a "number of serious injury and fatal collisions over the last few months".
