Motorists are being warned to expect delays as HS2 begins work on the A429 into Kenilworth this week.

With the full road closure pushed back until the end of September, 'stop-go' boards will be used between 9.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday from Monday 16 September to Friday 27 September.

This will be followed by a full 24/7 closure from Monday 30 September to Friday 25 October.

Phase one of the closure is for "further inspections and surveys of drainage and utilities".

Phase two will be for relocating the utilities for the new road alignment.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout.

In early 2025, HS2 will have another full road closure to complete the permanent road realignment for the new bridge.

Councillors on Kenilworth Town Council have recently criticised the "disgraceful" handling of the closure.
