The latest update on HS2 works near Kenilworth has been released following a meeting between Kenilworth Town Council (KTC) and contractors Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV)

Residents can expect more night works to be completed on the north side of town and local bridleways to be diverted at the start of 2022.

But the contractors said when the bridleways are moved there still be access to them throughout.

Councillors said the meeting was productive and the council was forming a good relationship with BBV.

Most recent work:

- Temporary works to build platform at Crackley compound

- Widening Crackley Lane to allow two-way traffic

- Earthworks at Bockenden now finished for 2021

- New compound built at Crackley Lane

Upcoming work:

- Ongoing drainage work around the Crackley site

- Diversion of the bridleways at W164 (mid December) and W165x (spring 2022)

- More excavation work predicted in north Kenilworth at night in January. BBV said this should not cause any night disturbance.

- More temporary works are forecast for February

- New design for the pumping station at Canley to be decided Speaking at last week's town council meeting Cllr Michael Coker said: "We are developing a relationship which is a friendly one, and we are getting a reaction which is what we are looking for. "We haven't had a problem yet, but we should gain from the relationship when there a problem - one is bound to arise at some point." (Image by Robin Stott via geograph.org.uk)
