Over 200,000 Covid-19 vaccinations have now been administered in Warwick District according to the latest NHS England data.

The 200,000th dose was administered last Thursday (August 13) with data from the weekend showing that 201,407 first and second doses have now been given to Warwick district residents.

Data includes all vaccinated residents in the area, regardless of whether they were vaccinated at the local site now at the Ramada Hotel, or at a mass vaccination site such as Stoneleigh Park.

Since December 14 2020, 108,074 first doses have been given, and 93,333 second doses given in the area.

As the vaccine rollout is now being extended to under 18's at higher risk across the UK, 221 young people in Warwick district have now been given both vaccinations.

According to figures released by Warwick District Council 71.2 per cent of local 18 to 24-year-olds have now had their first dose, only one per cent lower than the next cohort of those under 40 years old.

Nationally 73.5 million vaccinations have been administered, with just under 34 million people having now had both jabs.

However to help boost numbers locally, next week two 'myth busting' sessions will be offered at WDC local community hubs, in partnership with Warwickshire County Council and Public Health England, from 12-3pm on:

- Wednesday 18 August, at the Gap Community Centre, Warwick

- Friday 20 August, at Brunswick Hub, Leamington
