Councillors' surprise at new signs installed around Kenilworth

Town councillors have been left "surprised" by the installation of new signs around Kenilworth which are said to clash with new wayfinding signs put in place two years ago.
The green finger posts were put in place by Warwickshire County Council in July as part of a much wider cycling network project across the local area.
But despite being told they had been consulted, members at Kenilworth Town Council (KTC) said they had no recollection of being asked about the designs which some say clash with the new wayfinding signs installed in 2023.

"When we originally decided on the branding [for the wayfinding signs] we thought that would go throughout Kenilworth.
"And these are very different. It is a wake up call for communication."
Cllr Zoe Leventhal added: "They are nice signs, but it is quite a surprise to have these bright green signs right next to the different, carefully thought through wayfinding signs approved by the previous administration of this council."

She continued: "I do not remember us as a town council being formally consulted on the signage that has gone out.
"I do think we should point out that the communication has gone slightly awry."
The signs have also brought a mixed reaction from locals on social media, with some very against the choice of bright green for the colour.
