A Kenilworth councillor has urged the district council to make sure works to improve a local park are completed as quickly as possible.

Cllr Richard Dickson pressed the issue of Glendale Avenue Park at last week's Warwick District Council meeting, saying the council promised to upgrade the park by May 2019.

"Can you give some reassurance that the improvements will be delivered by May 2024?" he asked the council's cabinet.

Giving an update on the project, Cllr Will Roberts said: "The project is estimated to go out to tender in October, for its estimated completion in the early part of the new year, depending on the timeline for the winning bidder."

He added: "I shall make sure officers push this forward to get it delivered on the timeline they have given me."

Local residents were asked to share their views on the park last year, with the council asking locals what new equipment they would like to see.

In particular, young families and children were asked to give their views.
