Locals are being asked to have their say on plans to paint more double yellow lines on roads around Kenilworth.

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) is currently considering introducing new parking restrictions across the county, including on three roads in Kenilworth.

The local authority has launched a consultation before it starts the legal process to introduce any of the changes.

Locals have until Sunday 3 March to have their say on introducing residents-only parking on Clarendon Road, meaning people living on the street would need to pay £25 to park their car.

The scheme would also see two hours maximum stay introduced for other motorists, and double yellow lines painted around the various junctions.

WCC is also asking for feedback on plans to paint double yellows across a shared access on Castle Hill.

And the local authority is looking for opinions on extending double yellow lines into St John's roundabout, meaning there would be no stopping at any time opposite the Texaco garage.

"Over the past year Warwickshire County Council have received numerous requests for changes to the parking restrictions across Warwick district," a WCC statement said.

"These requests have each been assessed and the schemes that are believed to have the greatest benefit are proposed."

It added: "Before progressing to this legal stage, we would be interested to hear local opinions and comments regarding these proposals."
