Closed village pub remains unsold after auction
By James Smith 28th Jan 2026
A closed pub in a South Warwickshire village is once again on the market after failing to be sold at auction last week.
The Butchers Arms in Priors Hardwick had a reserve of £650,000 and went to a public auction on Thursday (January 22) with local agent Sydney Phillips.
However, the "honey hued" inn did not match the reserve price and is therefore back on the market again.
The firm said: "The Butchers Arms in Priors Hardwick unfortunately did not meet its reserve at auction and so it remains fully available."
Sydney Phillips described the venue as a "mellow stone village pub and restaurant" with four "quality, character filled trading areas".
There is a patio and "cottage style" rear garden as well as an outbuilding with "huge scope to develop".
The Butchers Arms sits on a two acre site.
