Kenilworth Bridge Club celebrated the 103rd birthday of club member Harry Collings with wine and birthday cake this spring.

Harry is the oldest player at Kenilworth and regularly plays on a Wednesday afternoon.

Harry did not learn to play bridge until he was 60, when he started playing at his local golf club in Coventry.

He continued to play bridge regularly with his wife for many years.

In March 2020, during Covid, the club moved online, and Harry bought his first computer and taught himself how to use it, so that he could play with Kenilworth bridge club on BBO (Bridge Base Online).

Thereafter he regularly played twice a week online.

The club believes Harry is quite possibly the oldest EBU (English Bridge Union) member who still regularly plays bridge and is a fantastic example of the health benefits of playing bridge.

The group celebrated his birthday on March 25.
