Firefighters were needed to rescue another car from Kenilworth's ford in the early hours of this morning (January 2).

The first call out of 2024 saw Kenilworth Fire Station and Warwickshire Police head to the ford at 5.34am.

"Due to the speed of the flowing water we used our inflatable rescue sled to bring the occupants of the car to safety," a fire service spokesperson said.

"Do not attempt to drive through any flood water, always find another way around."

The ford has been flooded for much of the past week as the wet weather continues.

A weather warning is also in place for Kenilworth today, as are flooding alerts across South Warwickshire.
