Canalside village pub closes as administrators called in

A popular canalised pub has closed with its parent company going into administration.
The Navigation Inn in Lapworth has shut its doors suddenly and its website replaced with a notice saying it has "ceased to trade and is now closed".
Operator Oakman Inns and Restaurants Limited has gone into administration with PWC appointed as the administrators.
The notice said: "Following the appointment of the Joint Administrators on Monday 21 July 2025 this site has ceased to trade and is now closed.
"Ross Connock, Mark James Tobias Banfield and Tom Crookham have been appointed as Joint Administrators of Oakman Inns and Restaurants Limited and Oakman Dev Limited to manage their affairs, business and property as their agents and without personal liability."
A post on the Old Warwick Road pub's Facebook page on Monday also confirmed the news.
Six of Oakman's venues have closed with 159 jobs lost.
