A Kenilworth cafe has kept its doors open despite a break in during the early hours of yesterday (October 11) morning.

Warwickshire Police said the incident took place at Forrest Coffee House between 2.30am and 3.00am.

A force spokesperson said: "A search was carried out but the offenders left empty handed.

"Any witness or anyone with information can report it using the incident number at www.warwickshire.police.uk/report or by calling 101. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Taking to social media The Square cafe owners said: "Thank you for all your kind words this morning, we've still got plenty of delicious coffee and cakes to warm your shackles so come on down!"

The incident follows a series of reports of town centre businesses being broken into during the past few days.

Police have warned owners to stay vigilant.

A spokesperson added: "Please be aware that overnight there have been a couple of attempted burglaries of premises in the town centre.

"Kenilworth is not isolated as Leamington and Warwick have had similar overnight.

"Please secure as best you can and remove valuables/money/personal electrical appliances where possible from the buildings."
