Bin collections across Warwick district will start earlier today (July 18) and tomorrow as temperatures are expected to reach 40C.

The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for the region for the start of the week and has warned of "risk to life".

Warwick District Council has announced that bin collections in the area will start at 6am today and tomorrow as a result.

A WDC spokesperson said: "With temperatures above 30 degrees early next week, our crews will be starting at 6am on Monday and Tuesday so they're not out all day in the heat.

"Please ensure your bins, boxes and bags are outside from 6am on the day of your collection."

The council has also begun delivering new bins and caddies across the area for the new 123+ collections beginning on August 1.
