Following the end of the second national lockdown, the swimming pool in Abbey Fields, and Castle Farm Recreation Centre will reopen next week alongside other sports facilities owned by Warwick District Council.

The district's leisure centres and outdoor sports facilities will re-open on Wednesday 2 December 2020, in line with the latest government guidelines.

Abbey Fields and Castle Farm will reopen alongside Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre, St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, and John Atkinson Sports Centre (managed by sports and leisure operator Everyone Active).

Local restrictions will mean, however, that some activities will not be available.

As well as the swimming pool and recreation centre, the tennis courts at Abbey Fields will also be available for use again, as well as the football pitches managed by the district council.

Warwick District Council's Portfolio Holder for Culture Councillor Moira-Ann Grainger commented "The reopening of our sports amenities is a welcome boost for our district especially as we move into the dark and cold winter months.

"Regular exercise is important both physically and mentally and we very much hope that local people will take advantage of the excellent facilities available, in the knowledge that strict, tried and tested health and safety measures are in place."

For full information on the activities available at the district's local leisure centres visit the everyone active website.
