The A46 is closed northbound from Leek Wootton as emergency services attend a 'serious' crash.

The crash involved a lorry and a van and a casualty was extracted from the vehicles.

Warwickshire Police and fire crews from Leamington and Kenilworth were called to the scene.

Highways England said that the "serious collision" has meant there is a full closure of the A46 Northbound between the A429 (Leek Wootton junction) and the A452.

Motorists have been advised to take alternative routes.

A Warwickshire Fire and Rescue statement said: "Fire crews from Leamington and Kenilworth plus an RTC unit were mobilised to a road traffic collision on the A46 between Gaveston and Thickthorn this morning.

"Incident involved a collision between a lorry and van.

"Crews extricated one casualty from the vehicle."

Kenilworth Nub News has contacted Warwickshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service for more information.
