In a new feature for Nub News, we have teamed up with Brazilian-born Bianca Rodrigues-Perry to share a new monthly recipe with our readers.

The self-taught chef and foodie from Leamington, is also the face of Bia's Kitchen Show, being streamed to audiences on YouTube, Spotify, Instagram and Facebook.

The show, launched earlier this year, aims to champion local independent businesses with many restaurateurs and chefs taking guest spots.

And to launch our new feature, Bia has shared a chocolate treat in time for Easter!

Bia's Classic Brigadeiro Brazilian Truffles

(Makes 8-10 servings)

These traditional Brazilian sweets are the perfect dessert for any occasion!

Made with just four ingredients, these brigadeiros are rich, creamy, and delicious.

Great way to get the children involved and an interesting alternative for Easter.

Ingredients

  • 50g butter
  • 395 g sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 30g dark cocoa powder (¼ cup)
  • 160g chocolate or multicoloured sprinkles (1 cup), as needed to decorate.

How to Make it

  1. In a pot over low heat, melt the butter, condensed milk, and cocoa powder, stirring continuously until you can see the bottom of the pot for 2-3 seconds when dragging a spatula through.
  2. Pour onto a greased plate, then chill for 1 hour.
  3. Shape and roll the chilled mixture into balls.
  4. Roll the balls in chocolate sprinkles.
  5. Enjoy!

All the recipes featured on the show will also form a book being published by Bianca later this year. Find out more online here.
