In an era dominated by mega franchises and sleek salons, the charm and authenticity of small local barbershops continue to captivate those seeking a personalised grooming experience.

These quaint establishments effortlessly blend tradition with a modern touch, offering a unique ambiance and a sense of community that sets them apart.

Men the Barbers on the Oaks Precinct is an example of such a shop.

Lesley Huus, who also owns Rumours Hair and Beauty next door, took on the empty unit over 10 years ago, turning it into a barber shop.

"When I opened the barbers there was only a handful of barber shops in Kenilworth so there was a need for one on our side of town" she said.

"Our barbers have built a great loyal clientele over the years.

"Our manager Wayne has been in the industry for over 19 years and brings a wealth of knowledge with him, he has been involved in some amazing collaborations with industry leaders and has had his work published in magazines such as Modern Barber and Evohair."

As well as excellent customer service, Men the Barbers also has a handy online booking system for appointments

Wayne added: "We specialise in every aspect of barbering and hairdressing, from fades to longer mid length styles, colouring, perming and styling, and of course, we want our clients to be happy with everything we do for them."

The shop has recently taken on a new barber, Manos.

He had his own shop in Greece for many years before moving first to London, working in Hampton Court, and then relocating and settling in the Midlands.

Manos said: "It's great to be working at a local barber's shop again and to be able to build good customer relationships, customer service is very important to us; we like to go that extra mile for our customers."

As well as excellent customer service, the shop also has a handy online booking system for appointments, but walk-ins are also welcome on Fridays and Saturdays.

The barbers also benefits from free easy parking in the Oaks Precinct car park, which has electric car charging points.
