Hundreds of housebuilding employees across the West Midlands have replaced their site clothing for Christmas attire in the name of charity.

Staff at each of Miller Homes West Midlands' developments in Warwickshire temporarily swapped their hard hats and hi-vis jackets for their most festive jumper to celebrate national Christmas Jumper Day as part of their fundraising efforts for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The housebuilder has supported the hospital as its chosen charity of the year, raising money through various opportunities including a charity 10k run, staff raffles and taking part in the hospital charity's Jolly Jumper campaign which forms part of their Christmas appeal 2023.

Through staff contributions and collection buckets placed at each of the developer's sites across the region, Miller Homes raised £587 as part of their Christmas Jumper Day fundraising, taking the total raised for the charity in 2023 to more than £6,000.

Darren Humphreys, managing director of Miller Homes West Midlands, said: "We have been incredibly proud to support Birmingham Children's Hospital this year as our chosen charity, which is a charity who many of our staff have a personal relationship with, as is the case for so many people across the West Midlands.

"This year, to mark Christmas Jumper Day as well as the hospital's own Jolly Jumper appeal, we came together to celebrate this with all our colleagues across the business, pulling on our very best seasonal jumper and wearing it with pride throughout the day as we asked for more collections at all our developments across the region.

"Myself and all our team of directors at Miller Homes all took part, as did our construction staff – including a competition for the best dressed 'site manager Santa' – and all our office-based colleagues, too.

"We had a great time raising money for the hospital which was our main goal, and we look forward to handing over our donations to the team at Birmingham Children's Hospital in aid of all the remarkable work they do to support young people from all over the country."

Miller Homes West Midlands is currently building new homes at its Southcrest Rise development in Kenilworth, and at its Trinity Fields development in Stratford-upon-Avon.
