From Monday 15 February to Sunday 14 March, staff and students from Kenilworth School will be lacing up their trainers and clocking up the miles to raise money for NHS Charities Together.

The 'Kenilworth School Running Challenge' was set up to help protect the mental health of students during the lockdown period, encouraging them to get outside and keep active.

As part of the challenge, staff and students will set themselves their own running challenge to complete, depending on their ability and experience. Runners of all abilities have been encouraged to take part.

An impressive 45 staff members are taking part in the challenge, including head teacher Mr Abbott and deputy head teachers Mr Bennett and Mr Hoverd.

Some of the most ambitious challenges that staff have set themselves include receptionist Miss Armstrong, who will be running 250 kilometres during the four weeks, and English teacher Mr Dudley, who will be running 200 kilometres across the time period.

All of the money raised during the month will be donated to NHS Charities Together, helping them to continue supporting the NHS during these challenging times.

The challenge, which starts today, has already raised over £800 in donations.

NHS Charities Together support over 240 charities across the UK which support our health service. Collectively, these groups raise over £1million every day for the NHS. To find out more, click here.
