Patient visiting will continue to be suspended at Warwick Hospital, despite the government relaxing Covid-19 restrictions.

No visitors, except those for child and dementia patients or those on end of life care or receiving a "life-changing" diagnosis, have been allowed since the end of December.

But with the government relaxing Plan B measures, South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is not changing its own rules due to infection rates remaining high in the area.

A trust statement said: "Despite Plan B measures relaxing in England, restrictions are not changing in our hospitals or clinical settings.

"Community cases of Covid remain high. To protect our patients and staff visitor restrictions are still in place and face masks remain mandatory in our sites."

Alongside the exceptions a birthing partner will be allowed to accompany a woman in labour for the "immediate post-natal period" at the hospital.
