The latest update on the £38million works at the A46 Stoneleigh Island has been released by Warwickshire County Council.

Having started in December 2020, the works will continue until at least summer 2022 and will see a new roundabout built at the site.

Since the last update foundation works have continued.

These include:

- Cutting back of trees and tree roots near the Dalehouse Lane roundabout.

- Finishing the workers compound.

- Starting excavation for the southbound off slip road.

- Building up the ground for the new roundabout.

- Compaction trials for the new ground.

- New drainage.

- 500mm of topsoil removed in the 'Beekeeper's Area' to create a new floodplain.

The next stage of the development will see more earthworks for the new slip roads completed and more drainage installed.

The two new bridges that are to be installed will also be built ready for installation.

The county council has advised that traffic management may need to be installed during the next phase.
