Kenilworth man among 16 arrested for drink and drug driving offences over weekend

A 53-year-old man was among 16 people arrested in Warwickshire for drink and drug driving offences over the weekend.

The man was stopped for speeding on the A46 near Kenilworth in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cannabis and later released under investigation and enquiries continue.

Amongst the other offences was a 33-year-old man from Whitnash who was arrested after a car nearly collided with patrol officers in Leicester Lane, Lillington in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man was arrested and charged with failing to provide a specimen and driving without a licence.
