A Kenilworth jewellers has taken over the former King's Table Cafe unit on Warwick Road, in the next step of its expansion plans.

James Moore and Co has taken over at 44 Warwick Road, moving its offices from Berkeley House and above its shop.

The former cafe will initially be used as a new office space and warehouse for First Class Watches - the jeweller's online store.

But the owners have plans to turn no. 44 into a click and collect service in the future.

Owner Jamie Brown said to Nub News: "We have moved our warehouse facility to there, having outgrown our previous one.

"At the moment it is a warehouse but we have plans in the new year to possibly put a click and collect store in there."

The King's Table closed to customers in May after 17 years of trading. The cafe first started in St Francis of Assisi Church before finding its permanent premises on Warwick Road.

The unit, which has been vacant since then, was taken over by First Class Watches in October.

The online retailer, which was launched in 2004, has become one of the UK's largest online watch shops and now ships worldwide.

James Moore and Co celebrated its 25th anniversary in the town this weekend with a charity raffle for a mystery £2,000 piece of jewellery.

The raffle was run in support of Papyrus UK Suicide Prevention.
