A Kenilworth jewellers is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the town with a charity raffle this Saturday.

James Moore and Co on Warwick Road will be giving customers the chance to win a mystery piece of jewellery worth £2,000 with the money raised going to Papyrus UK Suicide Prevention.

The independent jewellers will also be offering complimentary prosecco and chocolates as well as a 25 per cent discount on full price products all day on Saturday.

And as the business celebrates its silvery anniversary tomorrow, owner Jamie Brown has put his long term success down to the support of the community.

"It has been key to the growth of the business," he said.

"Kenilworth is a town that has always supported independent trade. If you look around the town it is still thriving with independent retailers.

"I think Kenilworth will continue to thrive because of that, and it gives us a point of difference to city centres."

Having first opened on Station Road in November 1996 next to the old Camerama store, James Moore has "gone from strength to strength".

Following its initial success the business moved to Warwick Road in 2004 and also set up its online shop for the first time.

First Class Watches is now one of the biggest online watch retailers in the UK, shipping worldwide.

And with James Moore employing 18 staff and stocking over 10,000 watches at any one time, business certainly is booming.

Tomorrow's celebration will also be a chance to raise funds for an important cause.

Jamie said he decided to sponsor Papyrus to support a staff member who has recently lost a relative to suicide.

"We wanted to support Papyrus because it is such an important issue and close to our hearts right now," he said.

Tickets are still on sale for tomorrow's raffle and there will be a live draw in store at the end of the day.

And as well as celebrating the shop's silver anniversary he hopes the raffle will also see more people come into the store, something his staff have been making the most of since lockdown.

He said: "It has been so good to welcome people back into the shop. We were fortunate that we could continue to trade online but it really was such a benefit when we could reopen.

"The staff were elated when I could finally announce that we were opening again."
