Kenilworth Covid-19 infection rates more than double in space of two weeks
Covid-19 infection rates in Kenilworth have nearly doubled since mid December.
Despite this all three Kenilworth areas are also below the national average of 1,922.5 cases per 100,000 people.
There has been one more death due to Covid-19 in the last 28 days, bringing the total up to 286 in the district.
But South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust has only nine hospitalised patients with Coronavirus - none of whom are on ventilators.
This compares to a high of 130 hospitalisations on January 13 2021.
Official government data shows the rolling seven-day infection rate in Kenilworth West before January 4 as 1,725.8 per 100,000 compared to 949.8 in mid December.
Similarly Kenilworth East has risen from 813.3 per 100,000 people to 1,776.6. Whereas Kenilworth South jumped significantly from 506.3 to 1,659.4 per 100,000 in the same period.
And up to and including December 31 84.5 per cent of people in Warwick District have had the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, with 78.9 per cent and 61.9 per cent receiving second and booster doses respectively.
A new vaccination hub has also opened at Warwick Hospital over Christmas.
