The Kenilworth Poppy Appeal is looking for volunteers to help with collections across the town this November.

The appeal, which last year raised over £16,000 despite Covid-19 restrictions, will be returning to in-store collections in Sainsbury's and Waitrose.

The pop up poppy shop, which last year was located in Arthur's store on Station Road, will not be needed for 2021 as a result.

Organisers Debbie and Martin Cox are now looking for a number of slots to be filled, especially on weekdays.

Debbie said: "We are asking if people may be able to spare a couple of hours to assist us in Waitrose or Sainsbury's between Thursday 28 October - Saturday 13 November.

"Anyone interested can message the RBL Kenilworth branch via their Facebook page or email me on [email protected]."

Local fundraising celebrity Margaret Kite will be returning to help the Poppy Appeal for 2021 by collecting in Sainsbury's throughout the fortnight.

Collections will also take place in Talisman Square Thursday to Saturday from October 28 until November 13.

Debbie added: "Due to the current situation some of our regular volunteers are unable to join us this year. We have a number of slots available for volunteers, especially on weekdays."

2021 marks the centenary of the Royal British Legion in Kenilworth, with the local branch one of the founding members in May 1921.
