Theatre
UNTIL Thursday 4th April
APRIL'S 'ANIMAL MAGIC' FRINGE
Date: Thursday 4th April
Times: 7:30 pm and 9pm
At: The Holiday Inn, Kenilworth
N.B - we're back to the usual format for this month whereby all content is the same at both times.
The theme for April is 'Animal Magic' and it promises to be a fantastic celebration of the performing arts. We are bringing you; comedy, dance, drama, poetry, and yet more comedy. We're thrilled that this Fringe will bring together one of our longest-serving and talented performers, Anne Bennett who will be performing in the premiere of 'Tuppence' as well as welcoming new performers to the Fringe stage across the evening too.
The full line up is:
Play: 'Catatonic' written by Nedra Pezold Roberts
Directed by Joanna Stevely
Cast: James McCabe, Tex McGowan and Simon Truscott
A very funny play about Tom, Rick & Harry; relationships, moving on, baggage, and what it feels like to be a scratching post.
Dance: We are thrilled to have some incredibly talented members of the youth theatre to perform some dance and singing numbers from their recent mainstage sell-out run of 'Roald Dahl's Matilda JR. The Musical.'
Play: 'Tuppence' by Paul Smith
Directed by Gill Halford
Cast: Anne Bennett
The premiere of this play has been specially written for the Talisman Fringe by Paul Smith. It is directed by Gill Halford with Anne Bennett playing Lisa. A powerful and thought-provoking view of aging, pets, and memories.
Play: 'Anger Management for Dogs' by Robert Haigh
Directed by Ellie Markham
Cast: Mark Plastow and Matt Baxter
We're delighted that following her wonderful direction of the youth group plays in December, Ellie Markham is stepping up to direct her first non-youth group play, as the Talisman Fringe continues to offer the perfect platform to nurture emerging talent. 'Rex and Fido meet up for a couple of bowls and to compare notes about the various anger management issues - including the rage-inducing properties of cats. This pales into insignificance when they realise that a very interesting event is taking place in the pub.
Poetry: The whole evening will be threaded together with poems read by Susanne Jackson Mayne, Lynn Kimmins and Emily Tuff.
We can't wait to welcome you at the Holiday Inn, Kenilworth for a great evening and all round entertainment!
